The 16th Annual Chancellor's Leadership Forum on Diversity & Inclusion
Wednesday, March 13, 2024 | 12:00 – 1:15 PM
The forum provides a platform for community members to hear from senior leadership on diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and anti-racism initiatives at UCSF. This year UC Irvine Chancellor Howard Gillman, PhD, will join the forum to discuss freedom of expression and academic freedom with Chancellor Sam Hawgood, MBBS.
UCSF Awarded NIH Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) Prize
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Institutional Excellence in DEIA in Biomedical and Behavioral Research Prize Competition recognized UCSF among only 10 U.S. post-secondary education institutions with a $100,000 prize for "implementing strategies to enhance DEIA in research environments."
Host an Intern: SFUSD and OUSD Paid High School Summer Internships at UCSF
Deadline: February 16, 2024
UCSF seeks departments to host underrepresented high school students from San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) and Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) who are interested in learning about the health sciences. Interns are paid by the school districts. Contact UCSF Pathway Programs Manager, Angel-Max Guerrero, to learn more.
UCSF Police Accountability Board Creates New Resource Website
The UCSF Police Accountability Board (PAB), dedicated to promoting accountability, trust, safety, and transparency within UCSF and the UCSF Police Department, has launched its new website. The site provides information about the PAB as well as a secure and convenient way for the community to submit concerns or complaints about UCSF Police Department.

UCSF Anti-Racism Initiative
As an organization dedicated to improving health, UCSF has committed itself to dismantling structural racism and the impact of bias. We launched the Anti-Racism Initiative to advance equity and justice in our community. Our anti-racism efforts are focused on seven major areas of work.
Malcolm John, MD, MPH Receives the Chancellor Award for Public Service
The Office of Diversity and Outreach congratulates Malcolm John, who has demonstrated a deep commitment to reducing health care disparities and promoting health equity, and has forged trusting and productive relationships with under-resourced and disadvantaged communities throughout San Francisco.
