Learning Resource Services (LRS; within the Office of Student Academic Affairs): LRS is available to all students via individual student appointments, school-specific workshops, and small group appointments with students who study together informally. LRS' primary areas of support are for: (1) Students who want/need to maximize their learning in academically and clinically rigorous environments; (2) Students with disabilities; and (3) Students might find that the learning strategies which served them well in the undergrad environment are no longer a good fit at the Health Sciences Professional School level.

BRIDGE is a four-year intervention study predicting persistence in challenging academic environments. Interventions designed to encourage doctoral students - especially under-represented minority students (URM) - to pursue their career aspirations in the research sciences will be developed, implemented and tested at UCSF. We hope to obtain information that will lead to evidence-based programs that effectively support greater diversity in the student body and in the health science research career workforce.

PROF-PATH (Promoting Research Opportunities Fully-Prospective Academics Transforming Health) is a research and academic career development program for health professions students funded by the National Institute of Minority Health and Health Disparities. We train UCSF students from underrepresented in medicine (UIM) backgrounds regardless of research area focus, and students interested in health disparities research regardless of background. PROF-PATH provides funding, classes, mentorship, community, and opportunities for training for students from all four UCSF professional schools. Our goal is to help students make the most of the rich research and academic career development opportunities available at UCSF.
