UCSF Advocates is the community of our students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters who stand up for values and policies that are fundamental to UCSF's mission of advancing health worldwide. We mobilize our community to stand up and speak out to help shape local, state, and federal policies that promote and protect our core missions of healthcare, scientific research and education. We educate people about the issues that impact out work and our community. Join us to learn more about opportunities to connect with lawmakers, engage in policy change, sign up for advocacy trainings, participate in advocacy events, and more.

The UCSF Center for Vulnerable Populations at San Francisco General Hospital carries out innovative research to prevent and treat chronic disease in populations for whom social conditions often conspire to both promote various chronic diseases and make their management more challenging. Founded in 2006, the CVP is based within the UCSF Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine and is located on the campus of San Francisco General Hospital. Beyond the local communities it serves, CVP is nationally and internationally known for its research in health communication and health policy to reduce health disparities, with special expertise in the social determinants of health, including literacy, food policy, poverty, and minority status, with a focus on the clinical conditions of pre-diabetes, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

Asian Network Hospice is seeking volunteers! We provide culturally sensitive, home health and end of life care to communities throughout the Bay Area. Volunteers primarily help with administrative support and patient appreciation projects. Volunteers may also be considered for the opportunity to socialize with patients. It is a great opportunity to support your local community, while gaining experience. Every year, college scholarships are also awarded to select volunteers.
