Congratulations, Klint!

Klint Jaramillo, MEd, MSW, has accepted the role of inaugural Executive Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the UCSF Department of Financial and Administrative Services (FAS). In this position he will guide the unit's efforts to create a truly equitable and inclusive environment for all employees at FAS.

In 2016, Klint joined the Office of Diversity and Outreach as Director of the LGBT Resource Center, immediately becoming an indispensable member of our campus community. During his directorship, Klint spearheaded numerous campaigns that have resulted in lasting impact for the LGBTQIA+ community and UCSF as a whole. In the fall of 2018, he orchestrated a multimedia educational campaign, Pronouns Matter, to bring awareness and intentionality to pronoun use and make UCSF more inclusive of nonbinary genders. This initiative has now become a national model for understanding, recognizing, and respecting the importance of pronouns in higher education institutions and health spaces.

Most recently Klint was promoted to Executive Director of the Resource Centers for Identity and Inclusion, which included the oversight of the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC), Undocumented Student Support Services (Undocu), and the Diversity and Inclusion Certificate Program (DICP).

Klint serves on the University of California (UC) LGBTQ Directors Council and has been instrumental in drafting new policies and practices to better serve UC LGBTQ populations. He has co-chaired several UCSF work groups, including the UCSF SB179 Task Force, Inclusive Facilities Committee, and the Gender Recognition and Lived Name Implementation Team.

Klint earned a master's degree in Education from Loyola University Chicago, a master's degree in Social Service Administration from University of Chicago and a bachelor's degree in Sociology with concentrations in Latino Studies and Critical Sexualities Studies from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.

The Office of Diversity and Outreach extends our deep gratitude to Klint for all that he has done for the UCSF community while working within ODO. As colleagues and friends, we congratulate him and wish him the very best in his new role!
